House M.D. is a medical drama centered around a professional diagnostician named Gregory House. Pretty much no hospitals have a diagnostics department, because thats part of the everyday work of doctors, so the fact that he is Head of Diagnostics means he’s just that good. He treats mysteries. House is cynical, bitter, pained by an injury from his past, and above all, brilliant. He takes medical cases that are mysteries because he doesn't care about patients, he cares about the thrill of solving the case, and his character draws many parallels to Sherlock Holmes, between brilliance and addiction to substances (in one episode there is actually a character who makes an attempt on House’s life, who is literally named Moriarty, so thats cool) The themes in House are very much centered around episode based mystery, and the draw of romance or series long plot are only minor pieces in the show, which is unlike a lot of shows, and a nice change of pace.
