Hitrecord

A little over a year ago I stumbled upon a little site called hitrecord.org. Hitrecord is a small little organization run by one of my favorite modern day actor/director's; Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Joe had built this open collaborative production company with his brother many years prior. Gordon-Levitt's brother ran the site until his sudden death a few years ago. As a last testament to his brother and to finish what they stared Joe took the site into a huge overhaul and began to put almost all of his off time into running the site. Basically the way the site works is people contribute their artwork into albums or by request and anyone and everyone has access to it.

From there anyone can make art with your work for free. Taking advantage of Creative Commons, Joe was able to choose a set of topics for 8 television episode and from months of collaboration Joe was able to create a full-fledged television program. A program that actually won an Emmy. This was  huge accomplishment and the group base has grown larger and larger since then.
