One of the major things I got out of this class was when we
were talking about Christian films.
Sure, a film can be produced to try and convert people but what atheist
is going to go see a Christian film in the first place for that to even
happen? Probably none? Exactly. Unless they go to just to critique the whole
movie and to laugh at it or something along the lines of that.
I think if someone wants to make films to try and evangelize
and/or convert people the Christianity needs to be a more subtle aspect of the
movie. If there is a plot about
something entirely different from Christianity but Christianity is still wedged
in there it may get the wheels turning of the people who are not
Christian. Plus, if the Christianity is
simply kind of snuck in there then the people who do not believe in God might
actually be tempted to go see it. People
do not like religion being shoved down their throats so people are not going to
go out of their way so that they can be told in an indirect way that they are a
terrible person for not believing in God.
