Church Art

Today's class opened my eyes to the fact that art in churches are slowly dying. Sometimes when I'm in an old church I like to look around and see the artwork and the designs in the architecture, the stained glass windows, hear the echoes and noises of the church that resonates throughout the church, and if you listen and look closely you can almost see the whole story of the church and Bible together. The old cathedrals have always enchanted me and made me look with amazement and remember the stories in the Bible that each painting tells. When I look back on my church back at home we have talent shows to show our own art and talents, but the walls are bare and a painting and a few decorations at the entrance. When I look at those walls I feel like a part of me has gone missing, and I didn't understand why until now.  If the rest of the world realized this they would probably feel the same way. I hope that someday, if it's God's will, art will return to the churches and bring the happiness that I feel about the artwork to others.
