Images of Christ

Yesterday in class we look at some of the stunning images that have been produce depicting Jesus Christ. I love how the different artists have managed to capture different characteristics of Christ in their work. For instance, some of the images of Christ have him with a calm, peaceful face, while other images have him piercing through the viewer’s soul. Other images show Christ’s head low to his chest, depicting his shame on the cross. I forget the name of the artist, but my favorite image of the crucifixion is the one where he is completely bare on the cross. Let’s face the facts, Jesus had no covering on the cross as some images and movies would depict. I honestly do not know why Christians would have a problem with showing Christ naked on the cross. I know that seeing images like this only deepen my love for Christ, know that he went through all that crap, for someone as broken and evil as me.
