So my last post was about my great (7Xs or something) Uncle, Gustave Doré. The great assumption is that I will lead on this somehow great legacy into the 21 century. But I chose art before I got tagged with this label of becoming this amazing artist. There is this bar set up to be something greater like the man himself. But if my teachers set me up to this higher bar (of Gustave Doré) then I'm never going to unlock my true potential. I am not the best artist and I will never say that I am better or smarter or stronger, because I know I have a lot more to go, even after I graduate. What drives me is my passion for art, for learning, and for people. Here are my passions that make me where I stand and who I am.
It all started with me drawing sonic characters that I made based off of the show. I made this when I was ten and kept drawing after.
As you can see I made some serious progress from when I was ten to now. See what started with? That's still me. It may not be my best work, but it was the best of me when I was ten.
I created this Batman a couple of months ago. Yes, I am a comic book nerd and geek that grew up with comics and Mario 64. I still have a lot more to go and a lot more to learn, but I'm gonna give you my absolute best and my passions and pour that into my work.
I am obsessed with mythical creatures, so if I ever go crazy you can capture me with a glass of chocolate milk and pictures of dragons......
As a child I was heavily influenced by Disney Classics, and some of the new ones too.
I started making some pictures for friends and family. Someone asked if I could draw Dorothy, this was my end product.
Then this year, I got into painting craziness and what sorts.
I taught myself face painting and painted anime eyes on my sister. Props to her for letting me paint her.
And This is only part of me and part of my long journey filled with hobbits, Narnia, the Tardis, and so much more. Art to me is, us trying to make God in our image. Even though we aren't painting God/Jesus all the time, we make art that glorifies God and that has aspects of God in our art. What's art to you?
And I don't know why people say I look like my great uncle, Gustave Doré. Go Figure.....
