SWERY

SWERY65, or Hidetaka Suehiro, is probably my second favorite game director ever (No one, and I mean NO ONE will ever beat Hideki Kamiya). You probably know him from Deadly Premonition, which is gaming's first notable cult classic game.  He also made Spy Fiction (haven't played it yet), and D4 (PLEASE BUY THIS I WANT SEASON 2).
(this is probably the catchiest video game song ever)

Swery's work has a very interesting style. Despite being a Japanese director, his games are blatantly targeted towards a western audience. That means that his games tell Western style stories, with the insanity one expects from Japanese games. In fact, many reviewers have pointed out that Deadly Premonition is essentially the TV series Twin Peaks, but with hilarious amounts of insanity added.
If you have Playstation Plus, Deadly Premonition is free this month, so if it sounds like something you would want to try, there's really nothing to lose.
"... You see that, Zach? F.K.... in the coffee!"
