I have been a little obsessed with Shrek lately. There is something nice about getting nostalgic over a movie that you used to watch when you were little, especially when you are avoiding all of your college homework. The first Shrek came out in 2001 and I loved it. I love the idea that there was a movie made about someone who was d
ifferent than everyone else (Shrek) and was hated by just about everyone at first but then in the end everyone started to like him because they found out that he was not so bad after all. Fiona made me really happy in the movie Shrek as well because she embraced her differences like being an ogre and she did what made her happy instead of what everyone else and society told her what to do. She married Shrek instead of marrying Lord Farquaad like all the storybooks and her parents had told her that she needed to do. I also love how Shrek incorporates other fairy tale creatures and they put their own twist on them. Their version of Pinocchio and the Three Blind Mice really got me to crack up laughing.
