Bada** Jesus
I can remember when I didn't think Jesus was all that much of man, let alone a badass. Come guys (I'm speaking to all the males), didn't you just hate that hippie Jesus that everyone tried to portray him as in Sunday School? I know I certainly did, and I paid for it dearly. I lost a connection with Jesus' manliness for many years until I found the passage regarding Jesus 'tossin' them temple tables'. I think John said it the best when he said Jesus made a whip and drove out the people selling things in the temple and disrespecting God (John 2:13-16). I started to seek out that Jesus and it lead me to the passage I read in class (Mark 2:5-12). It struck me how much of a badass Jesus is, when he can call people out on what they're thinking, without them saying it aloud, especially since he just rebukes them while showing restraint. He doesn't completely obliterate them like Neo would, but he demonstrates his power by restraining himself and silencing them with words alone. Jesus is both a hippie and a warrior....it's hard to wrap your head around.
