Some people are afraid of change. I understand that there are a lot of crappy children’s television shows being played right now, but that does not mean that they are all bad. Do you see how you are being like your parents and/or grandparents when you watch TV with them and they go, “Oh, look at this crap on TV. All the good shows were back when I was younger.” And you know damn well that you really enjoyed at least some of the TV shows from our childhood. Ed, Edd, n Eddy? Dexter’s Laboratory? That’s So Raven?
Just because you do not like a new child’s show that has come out now does not mean it is not appealing or fun for a child to watch. The show is not directed towards older people in the first place, so obviously it will not be nearly as entertaining for us to watch as it may be for its directed audience – children. The children now will be saying exactly what our parents/grandparents are telling us and what we are telling children now. It is a cycle, at least in my mind.
My point is, do not be that ignorant person that says, “Oh, these shows are so terrible compared to the shows I grew up with.” without even watching it and basing your judgment off of when the show was made.
