Frankly, I have never been fond of documentaries. I see their purpose and I respect the message that they try to convey, however I find them boring. Maybe I am just to use to main stream movies with constant action and explosions, but I just can't seem to concentrate very well on documentaries of any sort. Well, almost any sort.
First off I rarely ever watched them as a child because my family disliked them as well, do I was never really involved with them from the start. I suppose not having influences from your youth is significant in what you view and interact with as your life progresses. I realize that I can watch more now, but without the passion they are just pushed aside.
Back on topic though, I do appreciate what documentaries do, seriously. They show the truth that needs to be heard, but is usually covered by layers of altercations. So, this is one of the few almost true outlets remaining in real life today, and I respect the people who make these films for that.
Best Documentaries Ever
