In class last Thursday we watched the movie "Indie Game: The Movie", which followed independent video game makers and their game releases. What made this documentary so great was the passion and effort that the game creators put into their work and the hardships they had to face in order to be independent game makers. These guys devoted their lives to their work and what they were able to accomplish was amazing especially considering that they were working alone or with a single partner. Several of the game makers had to put their relationships and other various aspects of their lives on hold in order to make the games they dreamed of. The makers that were most inspiring to me were Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes because of the long hours and sleepless nights they put into their game and the dedication they showed to their craft.
