My earliest memory of Pixar was watching the very first Toy
Story, and the first theater experience that I can remember was Toy Story 2. I can say with confidence that these films
were my all-time favorites growing up.
Pixar has always had a big influence in my life, so you can imagine my excitement
when I heard that we were going to be watching Pixar shorts in class. I loved
all of the films that were shown, even the one with the ugly baby. Regardless of some of the more dated
production values, I have such a great appreciation for these shorts, not just
because they are hilarious and have great stories, but because all of these
films were attempts to refine the craft of computer animation.
I have to say that my favorite of the shorts was Geri’s
Game. I loved the premise of what a
lonely individual might do when no one else is around. I know that I am guilty of
doing some pretty weird things when I’m by myself. While there are some exceptions, Pixar’s work
is a wonder to behold, and I have now doubt that these films will continue to
make people laugh in the future.
