Loving What You Do

I've heard it many times that the film industry is one of the toughest places to work. You have long hours, intense competition, and a lot of stress. So, despite these things, what is it that keeps you moving forward? The answer is a love and passion for your craft. This is what separates the good artists from the great ones. The good artist will do what is required for their paycheck; the great artist will forget about the paycheck and go the extra mile to make the final product the best it can be. Let’s face it, if you are not passionate about your craft, why even bother?  Why deal with the stress when you can take it or leave it?
This is why I love the DMA department faculty; from the first day I came here I could tell that they really, REALLY, care about what they‘re doing. To them it’s not just about a paycheck; it’s about investing in the lives of young artist like myself and pushing us to become better, and to teach us to love what we do, and I can honestly say for myself, they’re succeeding.
