On Thursday we got into a very deep conversation about Evolution, Science and Religion. Now normally I side with science because I like having reason and ground to stand on for beliefs. It feels safer to believe in things you see and know for me as compared to religion where you stand in air in belief that you are walking on an invisible bridge. It's great that people can do that but not everyone can and should be bashed for it. For the people of science are building their bridge to faith slowly and with concrete.
Now when I think of the bible I think of it like a science textbook that is missing some steps. The thought process of Einstein that religion and science are all one. You cannot have one without the other. Now to tackle evolution and how it works you also need to tackle in a way the creation of earth. Now some religions acknowledge the creation of earth in Genesis as not being the true creation of earth but as a fable or at least very poetic. Which if it is real then and is done in a poetic manner than one day can stand for a billion years for example. For all we know god made his first attempt at man and it came as an early form of monkeys. As we know most animals including humans come from a common ancestor. Meaning that our ancestor changed by its need to live meaning God got us from having us evolve how he wanted us to be what we are now. Also saying we were made from the dirt or clay is a lot easier than saying god created a bunch of cells and put them together in a way to form everything he wanted to make. Honestly I think we have a lot to learn about God by science and to ignore it is to deny ourselves and God.
