Hello Amazing Students!

My name is Jesse Dore.  I am a freshman studying Animation at this University.

More About Me 

My favorite animal is either a dragon/dinosaur or giant octopus/squid.  One of my favorite pictures in the whole world is this picture ->

Why am I here?  I fell in love this summer... 

With animated movies.  I always liked them, but never really thought about what it takes to make a movie that you could draw to life.  I always thought someone had the black and white clapper and chased other people around yelling action and *BINGO*--- you have a movie with a great story line, daring characters, and an unforeseen twist.  But that's not making a movie or even making an animation cartoon, that's called youtube.  

My summer started with me researching the classic movie, Beauty and the Beast.  While growing up watching the wonders of disney, I always questioned how they made jumping spoons, dancing desserts, and singing candlesticks in one of the most recognizable songs in disney history, "Be Our Guest".  With the extra bonus feature, I started to learn that they didn't just have a monkey with a pencil and a computer: it was actual drawings: scene, by scene, by scene! 

This astounded me.  Even more, it inspired me.  I always had a passion for drawing when I was little.  And as my skills started to grow as my appreciation for art did as well.  So I decided to get started on animation.  I started with a story (that I'm still in the process of writing)and drew the characters directly from my imagination.  From there, I started drawing epic dragon battle scenes and so on (more dragons and squids).  

As my artistry began to continue, its spread from 2D, to photoshop, and to my all time favorite thing, story boarding.  Nothing gets me motivated and more driven then story boarding. There will never be a moment I don't have an opinion on a story, characters, plot, and did I mention story? 

I am deeply passionate and driven about story boarding.  

Other Fun Facts

-My favorite movies are Blues Brothers and Better Off Dead.  My favorite shows are Once upon a time, Doctor Who, and Sherlock.  

-I like chocolate milk and pasties.  That's something I could eat everyday (and Chinese food). 

-Platypus(pi) are mammals

-And if your refrigerator is running, you need a new fridge....
