Why I Hate Christmas Movies

Christmas, to some, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Families getting together to exchange gifts and spend time together. To others, it's a repulsive, candy-coated cacophony of carolers, whiny kids, Elf and Santa costumes, and mandatory gift giving. It must be really thoughtful to go and pick out a gift card for someone or just give him or her money. But I’ll just stop at that because I’m getting off point. And so we come to Christmas movies, or more specifically Christmas themed movies. A collective of overhyped junk, in my opinion. So-called "classics" wrapped in enough camp and holiday cheer to choke a reindeer. Believe it or not, some people enjoy their winter movies without a sermon on family values and the spirit of Christmas. I’m not saying that makes for a bad story but most of the Christmas movies I’ve seen make me sick with how, dare I say stupid the story is told.
