What is Canon?

Recently, Lucasfilm decided that they should do away with the EU (Expanded Universe) and establish a new canon before the release of the new movies.  The EU has now become Legends, and I am angry.  For years, I swore by the stuff that authors like John Ostrander and Karen Traviss created in comics and novels regarding the Clone Wars and the Old Republic.  Now all that hard work means nothing to Lucas, and only his crappy Clone Wars tv show and the whole saga and anything published since April count as canon in the galaxy far far away.

Those stories (especially the Republic Commando Novels written by Karen Traviss) mean so much to me, and were so much better than the tv show, that I think I have reason to be angry about Lucas' choice to stupidly reboot his already awesome universe.  Well now I just have to accept it and move on, and not become like one of the fans in The People vs. George Lucas, a documentary I recently watched on Netflix.  Check that one out by the way, it's good.  Episode VII is gonna be great, so in reality, I don't have much to worry about, but it doesn't mean I can't remember the good old days.....
