Olan Rogers

I am dedicating my 20th blog post to my all-time favorite YouTuber and one of my biggest inspirations - Olan Rogers. I'm not sure how to do him justice in one blog post, but I will try.

Olan Rogers is a Youtuber who posts vlog stories (all hilarious), short sketches, and short films, more like webisodes. He is the freakin' coolest guy on YouTube. He's different than many too. He refuses any money offers for his videos, and refuses to have advertisements on his videos. He really doesn't care about making money off of his videos, he just wants to entertain his viewers and make people laugh and smile. He will occasionally team up with others; he does an Admit One short with Fandango and he was at Buffer Festival in Canada making a Star Wars short. He truly, truly cares for his fans. I've tweeted at him, and he has tweeted back, he's responded to me on Facebook, and he even helped me with fundraising ideas once. He held a tour two summers ago, the Eat a Slice With Me tour - he basically went around the country and hung out with fans. They got free food, talked to him, and other fun stuff. One guy got his laptop stolen while waiting in line and Olan bought a new one for him! He's awesome.

He is a Christian and cares a whole lot about others well-being. He'll send out encouraging messages on Facebook and also has an apparel line. Some are quotes from his videos, but most of the line is about positivity and overcoming obstacles. I have a few items from him, and he is just a huge encouragement and inspiration to me. His videos make me laugh so hard, every time and I like to turn to them when I'm having a pretty bad day. I want to be like Olan Rogers. His love of people and filmmaking make him the kind of person he is. He doesn't care about money, he wants to tell his stories and he cares about his fans.
