It's A Looney World Out There

Looney Tunes will always stand in my mind as the quintessential cartoon.  It had heart, charm, wit, hilarious slapstick, and the greatest voice actor of all time to give breath.  While many people who worship at the altar of political correctness scoff at it's off handed and many times racist humor, I love it for all that it is.  It's a piece of our history as America and to denigrate the masterpiece that is Looney Tunes is to deny one of the very things that makes America such a beautiful place to live.

Walt Disney at the time was creating his own cartoons using Mickey Mouse, and if you look at his early work it's not all that different from Looney Tunes.

It wasn't until later that Disney took a more family friendly approach to it's cartoons.  However, Looney Tunes in it's heyday never backed down from a good joke.  Just take a look at THIS classic short.

In the end, Looney Tunes shaped the very face cartoon comedy for years to come and without it we would be a far more sad nation.
