Animation vs. Film Production

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but there is a substantial difference between the Animation majors and the Film Production majors.  Culture has always fascinated me, and so I noticed this difference almost immediately.  Production and Animation majors are all weird in our own way, but I had no idea there were different styles to being nerdy or geeky or whatever.  Production majors talk about the newest camera lenses or compare camera models like the 5D or 7D, while Animation majors discuss rendering different pieces of art or differences in animating software.  We all geek out over new products for interests, but all in all we're here for the same purpose: to make great art.
