I always feel refreshed after watching a good documentary. I can only watch a certain number of Hollywood movies before I get bored. After many viewings of the same genre I feel like I'm watching the same thing over and over. All the superhero movies are the same to me. Whenever I feel the need for more stimulation, documentaries will always provide that refreshing movie-viewing experience.

The film we watched today, Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary, was a really insightful analysis on the effect of documentaries. The people in the film said that they aren't constructed, they are simply captured. They have the power to make an audience empathize with things they never knew they could. As well, anyone can make a documentary; there are no rules dictating how they are made. I got kind of lost in my thoughts after this. I thought about the final I have to write for this class. I thought about being a documentarian for my career. I know it would be difficult to make money, but it allows the freedom to make whatever I want. I like that idea. I hate being told what to do, and I feel like a job on a set in Hollywood would constantly be demanding of me. IDK though. A job in Hollywood would still be amazing. Maybe I could be a freelancer. IDK!!! There are tons of options and it's exciting but overwhelming at the same time.
