Mud

Last night I watched the movie Mud with Matthew McConaughey playing the role of a fugitive who is trying to be reunited with his true love. Two boys, Ellis and Neckbone help him along the way by getting him food and helping him contact his girlfriend. While I didn’t think this was one of the best movies I had seen, it was a solid watch and once again Matthew McConaughey really brought his role to life for the viewer. He is one of my favorite actors because of his ability to really adapt to the role he is playing and the passion he delivers every time he is acting.

What I like most about Mud is the simplistic feel it has. The movie isn’t overwhelming or outstanding, but it tells a good story about people who live a relatively simple life in the South. It is a slow developing movie at times, but the drama it develops over time makes it well worth the wait. The film has a human element to it that focuses on friendship and trust as its key elements. While this may not be my one of my favorite movies, it is still a solid watch and one that I would recommend people to give a chance.
