Pleasantville

Sometimes life can be colorless in our eyes, even though life never gets dull. When we think of black and white we think sadness and pain. Without love, happiness, laughter, and God, we are all black and white. Our color is everything God provides us with.

Pleasantville gave me the idea that without our passions and love we are nothing but different shades of grey. It also made me think that when we find the things we love most, we find the color of life.

*listens to One Republic's song "Life In Color"*

The man in the diner who wanted to be an artist found his color. And Toby's character found it through love. Even though they could not be the color they saw, they still cherished it.

I feel like that's how it is with God, even though we can't be exactly like him, we still see his color and take as much of it in as possible. And without God in our lives, we would see nothing but grey.

  1. That's a good analogy with our relationship to God. Didn't think about that.
