I really couldn't come up with a better title. I really
enjoyed the clips from Pleasantville; now I want to watch the whole movie. I've
never been the type of person who really enjoys staring at art in a museum
because I usually don't get it and when people try to explain it to me I feel
like they're over-interpreting it. It kind of leaves a little hole inside me
because I like to think I'm an artist yet I can’t understand half the art that’s
out there. But watching even these short few moments of the movie; how the
people needed art and were desperate for color moved me. It made me feel like I
should take a step back and try to look at certain types of art again or in a
different way.
And it was so symbolic! I loved picking out the cycles from
birth to death, from spring to winter; and that scene where the girl picked the
apple, the moon was behind it, and she handed it to the guy… that was tremendously
put together in my opinion. I wasn’t
expected a little Adam and Eve reference to be thrown in there (although I
guess I should have).
Toby Maguire and Reese Witherspoon: bonus points! |
Yeah, I agree. These clips from the film were very well-thought out. As for the art, I think that there's not always a right answer. The art is exactly how you, the viewer, interpret it. The way other people see it, well, that's just their opinion.
